Eric R. Klein is the Leader of the Corporate Finance practice with Farber Financial Group.
Eric’s practice focuses on providing value-added financial advisory services to mid-market companies. As the head of Toronto-based Klein Farber Corporate Finance Inc., Eric focuses on complex mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, financings as well as joint ventures and business valuations of mid-sized Canadian corporations.
Eric joined Farber Financial Group in 2003 when he merged his successful corporate finance and business valuation practice with the firm. He had run this practice since 1993. Prior, Eric was an executive with Fairfax Financial Holdings where primarily he sought out acquisition and investment opportunities, typically ranging in value from $10-$100 million. While with Fairfax, Eric also was an interim financial and operations executive for companies. Previously, Eric worked for a large management consulting firm in Toronto and a mid-size accounting and consulting firm in Montréal, where he obtained his CA auditing businesses of various sizes. At the Toronto-based firm, Eric prepared valuation reports of public and private companies for purposes of purchase and sale investigations, private placements, matrimonial matters, shareholder disputes and tax planning.
At Farber Financial Group, Eric’s transaction and advisory engagements have been for mid-market clients typically ranging in value from $3-$60 million. Eric has developed an extensive business development network that has yielded clients and transactions from a variety of industry sectors, including utilities, manufacturing, distribution, service and information technology.
Eric has built a strong reputation in the industry with more than 25 years of experience in corporate finance, business valuation, corporate management, and professional accounting. He takes a hands-on approach with every client he engages with, combining his technical experience and expertise with a highly personable style. Eric has served as an advisor to various public and private corporations, quasi-government organizations, and private individuals and groups.
Currently, Eric is on several public company boards, which builds on his past service from both public and not-for-profit boards. He is a frequent lecturer and speaker on corporate finance and entrepreneurship and is involved in various charities.
He has contributed articles on succession planning, business valuation and alternative financing to publications such as Canadian Treasurer, The Bottom Line, Plant magazine, and Biz magazine.
