Biography

Nathan Treitel is a Senior Analyst in the Corporate Finance, Transactions & Valuation practice of Farber Financial Group.

Nathan’s practice focuses on providing value-added financial advisory services to mid-market companies. He has more than ten years’ experience providing diverse financial and business advice to both public and private sectors clients.

As part of the Klein Farber Corporate Finance team Nathan leverages his financial and valuation experience to aid business owners in valuing their businesses in support of a wide range of activities including tax reorganizations, estate freezes, going private transactions, acquisitions and divestitures. Nathan also provides sound strategic advice and transaction support to companies contemplating refinancing and mergers and acquisitions activity including detailed financial modelling of forecasts and transaction structures, preparing marketing documentation and presenting the clients to financiers and potential investors.   
 
Nathan joined Farber Financial Group in 2010. Before joining the Corporate Finance practice, Nathan both led his own consultancy and served as a Vice President with a Toronto-based asset management company. As a consultant, Nathan managed an engagement with capital project advisory firm on transaction options to increase private sector involvement in the capital projects under their guidance. He was also responsible for valuations of businesses and intangible assets and preparation of detailed financial models in support of a business plan required for financing purposes. As a Vice President with the asset management company, Nathan was a key member of the executive team responsible for establishing the strategic direction of the company and providing an extensive network of relationships and experiences that were leveraged to meet individual client needs.
 
Prior to that Nathan spent six years with the Toronto office of a global consulting firm, first in their Project Finance group and then as a Senior Associate in their Dispute Analysis & Valuations group.
While with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Nathan’s work included valuation of corporate entities and assets, advising various levels of government, and helping clients maximize financial and performance outcomes while attaining public policy objectives. Nathan’s work on infrastructure transactions in sectors ranging from healthcare and transportation to justice and corrections involved financial modelling, due diligence, litigation support, risk analysis and financial and transaction advice including process selection, transaction documentation, bid evaluation and value for money assessments.
 
Earlier in his career, while in Israel, Nathan worked for a public authority responsible for privatization of government owned assets and led a privatization team responsible for determining an optimal privatization strategy, preparing and analyzing valuations used as benchmark estimates of the sale price, negotiating on behalf of the government with potential buyers, consultants and investment bankers, and working with attorneys on preparation of prospectuses and data rooms.

Community Leadership

Nathan is deeply committed and passionate about his heritage. He has been involved for a number of years fundraising with the Canadian Foundation of The Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, known as the "Hospital with a Heart" for its century-long reputation for treating patients rather than just their illnesses. Nathan is a member of the Young Leadership Committee and is the founder and Chair of the “On The Run” event, an annual 5K run and family day raising over $35K annually in support of the hospital.
