Paul joined Farber Financial Group in 2006 from a large global accounting firm, where he was a principal in Toronto. Paul had also worked at other large global accounting firms both in Canada and New Zealand. Paul honed his financial and reorganization advisory services skills on numerous international assignments in New Zealand, the UK and Bermuda in audit, restructuring and financial consulting roles.
Paul brings more than 20 years of restructuring and advisory services skills to corporations, lenders and under-performing companies. Assignments have encompassed a wide range of industries including automotive, steel, general manufacturing, food processing, real estate, retail, warehouse and distribution and high technology. In this role Paul has provided consultative and restructuring services to a wide range of companies and lenders, ranging from turnaround consulting to formal proceedings including CCAA, BIA Proposals, private and court appointed receiverships and bankruptcies.
Notable assignments include: a successful CCAA restructuring of a 250 store quick-service-restaurant chain in under three months; financial consultant to lenders of a major Ontario agriculture cooperative, which was ultimately successfully refinanced and; the execution of a refinancing and sale of an auto parts company, comprising six plants in Canada and the US, through CCAA and receivership proceedings.
Paul brings a well-rounded and hands-on approach to restructuring and advisory assignments, having lead both small and large engagements. His calm demeanour and even-handed approach have been very effective in helping to negotiate and align stakeholder interests.
