Biography

Shirley Mohr is a Manager with Farber Financial Group.

Shirley’s practice focuses on corporate insolvency and restructuring, distressed financial advisory services and corporate consultative advisory services and has been involved on a variety of Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) and Companies’ Creditors Arrangements Act (CCAA) engagements.

Shirley joined Farber Financial Group in 2008. Prior, Shirley has been a member of Restructuring Groups of both large and mid-market firms. While working as a senior consultant at an international accounting and consulting firm from 2007-2008, she participated in several high profile engagements including the successful coordination of a multi-million dollar distribution to investors of a large portfolio management firm. As part of that coordination, Shirley led the development of a payment delivery system which is still employed today. For seven years, Shirley was an insolvency specialist at a leading Toronto-based mid-size accounting and consulting firm.

Her experience includes a range of appointments under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, as well as the Social Housing Reform Act, 2000.  Shirley has experience working with large to mid-sized companies across a number of industries, including advertising, logistics, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and non-profit. She also has substantial experience acting as a receiver and manager of both non-profit and co-operative housing corporations, as well as the management and coordination of major capital asset repair projects for those corporations.

Shirley is the recipient of several academic awards, including Ryerson’s International Student Exchange Scholarship. Her final semester at Ryerson was spent at Ceram Sophia Antipolis, European School of Management in the South of France. 

He is currently enrolled in the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional Qualification Program (CQP) with a target completion date of spring 2012. The CQP provides training courses and manages the official qualification process for individuals seeking to become a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) and a licensed Trustee in Bankruptcy in Canada.

Shirley is a founding member and currently a committee member of Social Insolvency Professionals (SIPS) networking organization.
